Euphorbia in Southern Africa by PV Bruyns

Post by Pattock »

I just got a newsletter from Summerfield Books and had a look through their forthcoming titles.

Available for pre-order for £219.95, due 13/3/21. Approximately 1200 pages. Luckily Euphorbias are not my obsession and I ran out of bookshelf space a while ago. I think I'll wait for the paperback. No doubt some here will not want to wait.

There won’t be a paperback. This was available for pre order direct from Koeltz a few months ago at a much cheaper price than Summerfield.

Of course any savvy shopper will want to shop around once it’s actually published and try to get the best deal.

It was originally going to be published by October 2020, then the end of the year, and the latest I heard from Peter was that it will be March....but don’t hold your breath😂

My comment on the paperback may have been sarcasm.

Funny.
I have been waiting since 2013 for the second volume, following The Titanopsis Group, of the mesemb series (http://www.littlesphaeroid.com/about_mesemb_series.html).

Shame he didn't complete the Stapeliads by covering the rest of the world.

Hi Pattock,

I regret to say that Springer are notoriously slow in getting books out into print, so I for one am not holding out for a July publication date for this book.

Will my own contributions to a book appear this year, next year - who knows?
Cheers,
Colin
