Some recognise tubiflora not as a synonym of oxygona but as the oldest name for E. silvestrii and E. albispinosa. I haven't seen the origins for this but it's always going to be difficult to resolve for the old, vague names. Adam's plant isn't E. albispinosa.

OK, I defer to your superior knowledge on this Phil, but I have a very similar looking plant that has been in my collection since I was a kid, which came to me as E. tubiflora, and which matches perfectly with an illustration of that name in Y. Ito's The Cactaceae.
