A little winter cheer

Always good to see a flower in the middle of winter. Lithops optica needs a bit more sun, I think, but still something to see occasionally.
Titanopsis calcarea. Any flowers that don't open early in autumn tend to linger until the sun comes back.
Gymnocalycium schickendantzii flowers whenever it is nice and warm. It is under lights with the seeds and decided that was warm enough.

And warmth. They need about 12-14C to feel happy to open, I find.

Another spectacular flower from the hotbox, Mammillaria columbiana. Even in summer it doesn't exactly attract attention.

The flowers smell very sweet.it really needed a brush before pic, it's on the top shelf so I was reaching with the phone. I think I've read somewhere that there is a red flowerd var. Would love to have that one.
