New member seed list availability

Post by jamest »

Hi,

Sorry if this is not the right place to post this. I’m a new member and have just received my membership pack and wonderful cultivation leaflets. A seed list order form was included but I read Ian’s article in the recent newsletter https://mailchi.mp/bcss.org.uk/bcss-mo ... 684ebb08c6 and it suggested there are no seeds left this year. Is this the case? A couple of seeds were included within the pack which I’m pretty excited about but just wondering if I can still place an order for more.

Many thanks to everyone for the warm welcome so far!

Hi James,
I'm sure there will be some left. Colser who administers the seed list will be on here at some point soon and can probably advise the best way to go.

There is also the forum seed pool. Seeds for just the price of postage.

Grab that Euphorbia from Tina while they're still viable!

I understand that the BCSS seed list is essentially sold out. There has been unprecedented demand for them this year, perhaps because it is increasingly expensive now to buy seeds from outside GB because of the documentation required.

In that regard I was able to get seeds from Mesa Garden without any problems or high cost.
Another source has been Seeds for Africa but they don't ship to the UK so you need a friend in SA as the middleman (or woman in my case).

But if Border Force had found your seeds Mike, they would have destroyed them if lacking a Phytosanitary Certificate. You are having to take that risk.

Thanks for reminding me about the seed pool. I’d forgotten about that. Thanks also for the euphorbia recommendation - looks pretty cool!
