If I can help, I have had this lobivia for about ten years and I had no problems down to -5 ° C.

Snow, decorative *and* functional. No lying snow here, but some cloud and flurries, and temperatures not as cold as forecast.

Re: Lobivia arachnacantha not cold tolerant?
While we are on snow - I have a few Aylosteras and an Echinopsis eyriesii outside in pots by the greenhouse. The seem to have survived the recent snow and subzero temperatures (and it's their second winter). I would imagine the Echinopsis is more cold intolerant than L. arachnacantha.

I'm interested as to why Tomasz would say that. It wasn't a generalisation, but specifically about arachnacantha. I'd email him but I'm not sure how good his English is, my Polish is non existent. Maybe MatZ could help

So your purchase and import went smoothly?

Yes, no problems. He was a bit slow dispatching it but all went well. It's worth having but you won't learn a lot, loads of typos and the English translation is unusual. I'm pleased I bought it. The maps are decent and it's nice that he shows photos of habitat plants without flowers and separate photos of flowering plants presumably in cultivation.
