I'd never met him but somehow feel I have lost an old friend, such was the warmth of his online presence. RIP.

This is such sad news. We are a really close knit family of plant enthusiasts that something like this hits us all. Terry was so supportive of the Society and such a hard worker behind the scenes. I enjoyed regular emails or chats with Terry who was never afraid to express his opinion.

I used to bump into Terry and Jennifer at RHS Chelsea or Hampton Court on Press Day and we used to have good conversations about 'other plants' too.

A true plantsman and someone we will all miss.

Condolences to Jennifer and all Terry's friends and family. His memory will live on in the plants and this wonderful hobby.

RIP Terry.

Reading that Terry had passed away was real gut-wrenching news. A wonderful grower who will be sadly missed. R.I.P. Terry

A real shock. Terry came to Exeter for convention. You couldn’t wish to meet a nicer man. A huge loss to out hobby. My deepest condolences to Jennifer & family.

I've known Terry for years, mostly from a distance, as an avid mesemb enthusiast and he was enjoying his growing so much recently that this is a great shock. AI can only offer my condolences to Jennifer and his family.
