Lovely. Definite senilis envy forming.
When did it start offsetting?

More to add to Mike's 'senilis envy' .....

Some of my seedlings in the past have flowered when very young. Yes, once the flowers open, they stay open, no mechanism for them to close.

This is a friend's plant that had more frilly flowers.

This is a photo I took of Hamish McKelvie's plant in Glasgow, with most unusual magenta-coloured flowers rather than scarlet.

Then, of course, there is Diane's marvellous white-flowered plant seen on the Forum recently:

The earliest picture I have on my phone is March 2017 when it has one small offset formed the previous year.
I sowed the seed in April 2009 so it was 7 years old before it started to clump. It really needs a repot this year which I am dreading 😬

Nice photos Tony 😀. I notice that it often doesn’t flower from all the heads in a clump and your photos seem to back that up. Perhaps they need to get to a critical size first

I don’t know who owned the one in JP’s book but that is covered in flowers from multiple heads.

Even so if you look at the photos carefully you can spot heads that don’t appear to have flowers. The first photo has a flower colour similar to the magenta shade that Tony posted

If anyone is interested, I have some spare tiny seedlings of the white flowered one. PM me with your offers for swaps!
