Neoporteria senilis

Post by Ali Baba »

At least that was the name on the seed packet. Not sure what it is called now but it is a lovely plant with a very dark purple body under those curly spines

Is that yet another case of, "the names have been changed to protect the innocent"?

Lovely plant, though
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

Here you go, not that you can see much body under those spines. This was grown from BCSS seed with the additional info ex KK.

I thought this species has fluffy and soft spines, basically wooly. But these look rather sharp and pointy.
