I'm sure I saw crista-galli at Wisley growing right up against the house near the entrance. Otherwise at Kew it was in one of the small conservatories.

I'm wondering whether hard pruning might persuade it to flower?

Used to be at Wisley in between the old glasshouses years ago. It really wants to be a small tree so keeping it pollarded contains it - the flowers are on the new growth so it works like that. I feel I should try it again, I have a vacant sunny spot that might work.
