Clone 2 flowered tonight and I have to report there's no scent from that either.

I attempted a bit of juggling whilst I was down there. I used a handheld camera, a handheld torch and held the pot.
No other person was involved :???:

The results (apart from the Machairophyllum photos - see thread)

Clone 1, old flower showing much red on the petals.

Image

Clone 2, no scent but larger flower than Clone 1..

I find the scent a bit hit and miss on these. Maybe better on warmer days, but I'm not sure it's as simple as that.

It's good to see the flowers opening, scent or not Ian.

It's not as if they were shy of doing it.

You need more flowers :)

Having said that, last night there was a noticeable smell from the one open Neohenricia flower, and it hadn't been a hot day.

These are good for reliable scent, a cross between Neohenricia and Stomatium.
stomatricia-0510.jpg
Or go the whole hog, guaranteed scent that fills the greenhouse.
alboroseum-0510.jpg
Or a different sort of hybrid, between the two Neohenricia species. More of a curiosity than a blockbuster.
