Some great images there in this thread
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

Great flowers Phil. The variation in the Lobivia is really interesting. Shame the multicoloured one doesn't open like the second one!

These are some very nice plants indeed! I particularly like the purple Lobivia maximiliana - do you have any further information such as a field number on this one, Phil?

Cool dull days mean that flowers open several times. The closed flowers, between such days, are worth looking at, and are quite different to the buds.

A much sunnier day today here, bringing on a load more flowers. The Lobivia maximiliana don't mind what the weather's doing and just open anyway. Here's a yellow one and one showing off the sheen on the petals.

Elsewhere among the lobivias, this ferox caught my eye. I don't think I've had flowers on this one before.

And this great big Soehrensia huascha ssp robusta has been cautiously opening this flower for the last few days but decided to really flex those petals wide for the finale today.

Some of my chamaelobivia hybrids are opening their first flowers. This one is in a seed tray with lots of very same-y siblings but is quite nice all the same.

But then this one is a bit different. It's the second of five seedlings to flower, the first being fairly normal. There's a third in the offing that has a bit of a strange looking bud too. It's a pity that this one is so tiny!
