Ceropegia conrathii

Post by Acid John »

I recently did a swop for this with Stig for a occulta, bit surprised that it is doing its thing already. Sorry for the blurry photo my phone did not know what to focus on and there was not much of that either.

Hi John, great to see C. contahii is doing well for you. Your C. occulata seems to be equally happy at this end. Below is what you can hopefully look forward to in 25 years time!

I received some very exciting photos today from a friend of mine in California who I sent one of these plants to a couple of months ago, his plant has started to develop seed horns, talk about beginners luck, I’ve not had any in 25 years! He didn’t have any other Ceropegias in flower apart from simoneae but I can’t believe those two species would cross pollinate. I was always under the impression Ceropegias are self incompatible.

That's reallly interesting re the seed horns, how long might they get ?
lovely looking plants are they prone to rot or quite tough

I once had Ceropegia woodii produce some seed horns with no apparent outside help.
