Wikipedia comments: "Common names include Orpheus flower and resurrection plant because of the remarkable ability of Haberlea to survive very long periods of desiccation."

Have you observed that yet in your garden, Ralph?

That name is very appropriate . Mine growing in the Polly tunnel sometimes look very dead. They don't seem to like it outside overwinter with me. Maybe to wet?
They soon recover from looking brown and withered, in the spring. Growing well in shade. I think they might do well in the right dry shady spot in the garden , a bit of trile and error I might find somewhere for it.

Well, I didn't water it in this long dry spell we have had here - despite it being in a pot - and it seems fine, when even trees in the garden are losing leaves. It's fairly close to the house on the East side, which perhaps gives it a bit of extra protection from the winter.
