Final Asklepios arrived

Post by Pattock »

This morning I received Asklepios 127, the last issue produced as the International Asclepiad Society winds down.

Great articles, great photos as usual. Apart from the one about Frerea, which could have been wrote betterer. :baringt:

Overshadowing the journal, the sad news was enclosed that the promised final seed list had been fumbled. The seeds have been sent back to the donors.

I would have preferred the seed list rather than the journal, if given the choice.

There are plans to revive the German IG Ascleps as International Stapeliad Group - does the journal mention this? I have no inside knowledge, only picked this up on a German forum - that could be an interesting new group, though.

A big shame about the seedlist but so be it.

Let’s see where it goes now,

Nothing about that but there is a Membership application for the FGaS. Which is also online:
https://www.fgas-sukkulenten.de/index.p ... membership €45 per year.

Alan Butler will be continuing the promotion of asclepiads through that society and promises there will be some asclepiads in each issue of Avonia. Their seed list comes out at the start of the year so, unless we get another extension or France invades us at the invitation of Prince Harry, they are unlikely to be supplying seed to the UK again.
