Today’s bloomers!

These are just a small selection of the many cacti in flower today - too many to count!

First up is the wonderful Mammillaria luethyi, so stunning in flower. These are both grafted, and the larger one is a multi headed plant I bought from Tony Irons last year:

Next, is Homalocephala texensis - the ‘Horse crippler’ with its amazing fringed flowers:

A red flowered form of Astrophytum senile:

Finally, an odd Chamaelobivia hybrid with fringed flowers. I bought this from a garden centre a couple of years ago, with a hand written label by Chris Pugh, which says ‘Lobivia hybrid purple flowers’ which it obviously is not, but Google shows an identical plant called Chamaelobivia cv. ‘BOOM’. First flowers are fringed but subsequent flowers are normal.

That Homalocephala is wonderful!

Mine has only just started into growth.

Well done Diane! My Homalocephala has never flowered. How big / old is yours?

Thanks, everyone! Ralph, I’m not sure how old, I would guess about 20 years, but could be wrong. It’s in an 8” pan.

Diane, I have never seen texensis in flower before that is so beautiful.
