Interested in most genera of small to medium ‘globular’ cacti, large flowering Mammillaria, Epiphyllum, Trichocereus, Hildewintera, Cleistocactus etc, small Agaves, Lithops, Titanopsis, Faucaria etc, plus hybridising.

Maybe!
Perhaps it's just a glitch and normal single head growth will resume.
I find that seedlings forming 2 heads are much more common than cristate / monstrous ones.
It's one to watch anyway.

I had one monstrose and 1 variegated Echinopsis in all the seedlings last year so it could be. Mine were in hybrid Echinopsis though, not a straight species with a mix of genetics to throw up oddities - I'll try and remember to take a photo tomorrow.

These are my aberrant Echinopsis seedlings from last year.
And I noticed today a Rebutia senilis seems to be going similarly but this could be damage to the growing point. This was from BCSS seed last year.
