My favorite Echeveria. Any tips on propagation would be greatly appreciated. With me this one is quite tricky needs watering from below and doesn't offset.
Though what a beauty.

You can propagate this by using the leaflets that appear on the flowering stems. Set them on a dry medium (sand or grit) and eventually they should produce roots. This is probably a better way than whole leaves, but even then, only a proportion will root.

Fero - Maybe it just needs to be older? My original plants are now around 8-9 years old and not very attractive as they sit on 2” stalks but they do produce 2-3 offsets a year.

This is my lauii . Not as happy as yours Mike.
The bloom on this species is incredible.
Not a very good pic, it was a lovely big plant last summer,
It should plump up as the season gets going.
I've grown a few though haven't managed any propagation yet . Most difficult echeveria, I've found are best propagated by decapitating and re-rooting the top. to let pups grow on the old stem. Haven't tried with lauii.

I will try using the leaves on the flower stem. I've tried the leaves from the main stem before with no luck.
Thanks Diane.

Will remove the flowering stem and desicated lower leaves and hope for a pup.
Thanks Mike p

Photo taken today. It grows well in this pan with a very open compost.
