Looks fatter than your average plant. Maybe grafted? Or just a different soil? This is usually considered to be self-fertile, but I've found that some plants aren't. Fingers crossed. It only takes a few weeks after the flower for the seeds to spill into the wool. Have fun getting them out!

Hello Tina, In my experience Strombocactus are quite variable in tubercle size and shape, look a these two, similar to the ones in your picture, but the one on the left is the parent of the one on the right.

Yes, that is the fun part!
I tilt the plant just a bit and then I use a small brush to brush the seeds from the top straight into a container. If you do it right, you don't spill any seeds that land in the soil on the side of the pot and you don't spill any soil in the pot that also falls in the container if you tilt the plant just right enough.

Pooters! The hours of fun we had taking the filter off so others would suck the insects into their mouths!!!
