I've read some time ago on PlantZAfrica that they propagate easily from leaves, if that's really the case I'm surprised how rare they are, at least in trade, maybe not in collections.

I suppose you could imagine it on e bay Stuart! Mat, in my experience they rot very easily. Just hope this publicity isn’t the kiss of death for mine.

Re: Some Gymnocalyciums
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

Re: Some Gymnocalyciums
Lovely plant Jean.
Gymnocalycium don't seem to get the same appreciation as other genera. I have a short shelf in the GH which has been in flowers for weeks, and each plant with multiple blooms, often lasting for days.

Re: Some Gymnocalyciums
Thanks Terry, I’ve got quite a lot of Gymnocalyciums, they have a good range of body forms and flowers.

Re: Some Gymnocalyciums
It does look like a bit of postprocessing had been applied, but I really like the contrast between dark green bodies and the deep pink/red(dish) flowers!

Re: Some Gymnocalyciums
No post processing Mat, slightly cropped but otherwise exactly as I took it.
