From the sublime to the ridiculous?

Post by Mike »

Sometimes flowers are well worth the wait, sometimes I'm not quite so sure. I thought I'd share these two, flowering now in the greenhouse.
The first has sublime flowers. I received it a Lobivia densispina v. sublimiflora, but the chance of that being the right name is probably not great.

The second is a caudiciform plant that has slowly produced bunches of flowers that are not only very small, but pale brown.
It's Stephania perrieri.

Apparently 'almost nothing is known about the pollination of Menispermaceae'!
