Is that a true representation of the colour? A bit more purplish or cerise than red?

Yet another "bloody" specimen... :grin:

I reckon someone could do a PhD on exactly what kind of dead animal each stapeliad flower is mimicking.

It has been suggested that many are imitating the south end of a north-facing animal or corpse.
