deflowering this lady yes or no- Sansevieria

Post by Ernie »

This is my Sansevieria (Dracaena) 'tough lady'
The flowers come out at night time. They are oozing a sticky liquid.
Should I leave the flower stem on or cut it off.

Does it smell nice? Put a bit of plastic underneath for a few days?

Most (if not all) inflorescences of Sanseviera produce this 'nectar', so it's completely harmless - no indication of hidden bugs or the like.
