A photographic experiment

Post by iann »

I tried to take a photo of Mammillaria guelzowiana today. Without blowing out the red! I'm reasonably pleased, but I suspect others can do better.

That’s beautiful, Ian! My two plants don’t appear to even be in bud this year, no idea why, they have never failed to flower in previous years.

I'd say that's a pretty accurate rendition of the colour, and tricky to achieve - well done!

What did you do?

That's pretty good .... now echoing Ralph's question for your technique.

Perhaps I should just send a flower? Less work for you to look after it afterwards

Very strange. Every single one of mine had flowers this weekend. This is my favourite: not the biggest, but the fluffiest.

Well, my eight-headed plant finally flowered yesterday! I was beginning to think the worst, but a good watering the week before might have done the trick.

My single headed plant still shows no sign of buds, but it doesn’t look quite right, so I hope it’s not going to croak on me.
