Some Gymnocalycium flowers today

Post by iann »

Typical one from G. vatteri, white with reddish centre.

G. mesopotamicum is similar

Maybe M. berchtii flowers should be considered typical, whitish with bronze shadings on the outer petals.

But also sometimes pink, not quite open yet

Sometimes you get other colours, like this peachy shade, but this may be a hybrid.

Lovely. Thanks for sharing. The peachy pink may be a hybrid, but it's a gorgeous colour.
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

Nice, Ian. It must be gymno time as my G. vatteri opened briefly on Saturday. I'm hoping for more sun and warmth today for it to open fully.

Growing a mixed collection of cacti & other succulents; mainly smaller species with a current emphasis on lithops & conophytum.
