Annoyingly I missed the flowers on this one. One of my best attempts at keeping it flat by not watering it much and giving it good light.

They have a 6th sense .... they know when you are away from home .... and they get at the Tequila etc .... that's why they are fully open on your return.
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

So do I but it’s a task stopping them from becoming globular.

The lower half of mine looks like someone's let the air out of it!

It’s odd how Gymnos do this. I have a quellianum with exactly the same problem.

Mine is a bit weather beaten and in need to an upgrade from its 2" pot, which has been it's home since 2008 😔

Mine were too flat last year but I've treated them better this year and now look fairly well. Pic from this morning:

I’m not the best at growing Gymnocalyciums, I think they would be happier with a bit more shade than I give them, but I have the pink flowered form of this species too.

Not the best photo I’m afraid:

Does anyone know if these pink ragonesei are naturally occurring or of hybrid/selective breeding origin?
