These semps are a must if you have a small greenhouse which is full up!

When the rosette goes into full scale flowering mode it can seem to sap the energy from a lot of the rest of the clump. Is it helpful to chop off the flower stem once flowering is over & so excess energy can be diverted to other parts of the plant?

I’ve never tried this Brian, but it makes sense.

These two photographs show my point a bit better. Before the flower shot up, the whole plant was a lovely white webby clump. The effort of flowering seems to have drained the rest of the plant. Then all the new offsets almost seemed to appear overnight. To chop or not to chop?

That last one looks like a response to the recent weather. Could we have an update on Sunday or Monday?
