I can see the resemblance. Do they loose the varigation as they get older?

I'm afraid I only have my own example to go on! I do know that new growth at the top of the plant starts out a lighter green, and that as they grow they develop that sort of greyish "sheen" you can see a bit in one of your pictures. I'm sure there are others on here that will be able to tell you more...
