The origin of the name Caralluma

I have just posted an article on my blog about the origin of the name of the genus Caralluma. It is one of my shortest articles at 671 words but, if you want the short version:

Definitely not from the Arabic for "flesh wound" or "abscess", that was made up out of complete ignorance by someone in the 1990s who should have known better.

Definitely is from the southern Indian language Telugu. Meaning unknown but two very similar words mean "wild green ginger" and "backbone".
