Aloe safari sunrise
Got this 2 years ago from Dobbies (not seen it since in their garden centre) Label says its a summer grower, it probably is in South Africa but here in Uk it does this in December/January. I have two, the other one is just starting to show growth.

Nice looking plant Ernie
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

They are lovely flowers. The plant is apparently reasonably hardy. This hybrid came up in discussion with Colin Walker in a thread about Dobbies a little over a year ago. Some interesting detail about the breeder and the parents farther downthread. Colin's was not as advanced into the flowering and fresh from the shop, so unfair to compare with yours in full bloom.

Re: Aloe safari sunrise
I'd seen this in large quantities at wholesale nurseries but not in flower and I've not sold it as it's not a 'manageable shape' for me. I'd assumed the flower would be a bright orange with the name 'Safari Sunrise' but it looks to be pink and white. I wonder where the name came from unless the leaves colour up well in stressed conditions or is it just good marketing.

Hi Stuart. This photo gives better impression of the true color of the flowers

Natural light in the greenhouse this morning. Perhaps gives a better idea of the origin of the name

Surprising what a difference in light colour makes.
