Welcome Christer. Ask as many questions as you like - I won't be able to answer anything but the easiest ones but you can be sure that someone on here will be able to answer any question you can come up with. I've been growing cacti for one year now and the more I find out the more I know there is to find out about. Joining the BCSS and this site was the most useful thing I have done. All the books in the world can't provide what you get here.
Not quite so new to cacti now - greenhouse up and running - a cactoholic is born!! Visits welcome - just get in touch.

Thank you all for the warm welcome!!
About my self
Well, I am 40+ and live in a flat, so I am a windowsill grower.
I live in Västerås, Sweden so it's very dark here at the moment
When I was 17 years old I worked as a gardener, but working with robots right now. In between I worked as a photographer as well
At the moment I grow Ariocarpus, Arrojadoa, Astrophytum, Aztekium, Brasiliopuntia, Cereus, Cleistocactus, Copiapoa, Discocactus, Echinocactus, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Eriosyce, Ferocactus, Frailea, Gymnocalycium, Harrisia, Hylocereus, Mammillaria, Matucana, Melocactus, Opuntia, Pachycereus, Parodia, Polaskia, Rebutia, Rhipsalis, Selenicereus, Stenocactus, Tephrocactus, Turbinicarpus and I have some seeds that has been in the pot for just a week
I looking forward to see this cuty flower this summer

Now that's a lot of window sill.
Of those I have:
one Copiapoa barquitensis.
Fraileas lasted 48 hours then disappeared.
Gymnos - a ragonesii who makes huge buds that never open, and an amerhauseri which never flowers.
Mamms - a gracillis and some unknown seedlings.
Opuntia - seedlings about 4cm high from an ... acquired... fruit.
Parodia - one pot of seedlings from 5 year old seed. It's parent died many years ago, after that one huge yellow self-fertile flower.
All of them on a window sill.
Beautiful Melo by the way! Hope it flowers for you. Has it flowered before?

Happy carrier of Forby Disorder - an obsession with Euphorbia obesa.

Well, you got some nice and different genus as well, Julie
Yes, that's a lot of windowsill, I know I've put up some shelves in the window for the plants. In one window I've got 10 deg C at the moment for the sleeping ones
I have 4 Melocactus and all of them flowered this summer, but no pictures on this one in flower
I got some seeds from a opuntia fruit today. The fruit just fell of yesterday O. humifusa I think?
