Mexico - April 2010

I returned from a great trip to Mexico with 7 other enthusiasts. The focus was to try to find as many Mammillarias in the central to north west regions, and we did find a lot of species, but not just Mammillarias.

To save duplicate effort, I am posting a link to another Forum in which I am gradually adding photos of Mammillarias found.

Excellent work Chris.
Nice to see the Mammillaria perezdelarosae in situ. Lots of light and little water needed to make them that tight in cultivation I guess.
Nice to see that the Mam uncinata looks very much like my aged specimen.(Or visa versa really).

Yes, they weren't as shrivelled as I had thought they might be. I think there had been some rain so far this year for them, as some of the ocotillos were in flower and leaf a bit further north.

Just caught up on the latest episodes, you saw some absolutely choice plants Chris ! Especially like the M. theresae in part 5 and a few other real gems showed up in parts 6 and 7 (I won't give away all the surprises!)

Fantastic - what a trip, Chris! I bet you were in "seventh heaven"! I've now caught right up to Part 7. Highlights for me so far are the longiflora, guelzowiana, and theresae, but the photos I really like are the great plants of M. pottsii. Thanks again for sharing.
