As previously stated our Fair is certainly still 'on', however as is to be expected there are some precautions that need to be taken to make it a secure event.

These have been guided by the Government rules as well as the venue owners which have only been finalised today.

So, here goes....................

All visitors and traders are required to wear a face covering. Upon arriving at the new entrance door you will be required to use your NHS App from your phone to register in or give contact details if you need to be contacted in the following weeks.

The main hall will allow 12 buyers to enter and move round the hall & stands in an anti-clockwise direction. Once they have moved on a further number of buyers will be allowed in.

From the hall there are another 3 stands to buy from in the former computer area. This then opens onto the cafe where you will have either a take away service or a table served section.

From there you exit the building then re-enter the building by the Main door where another 3 stands will be. Once finished you use the exit by the cafe.

All areas will have windows/vents open to provide fresh air inside.

Please only use the building for the buying of plants and use the outside areas to mix/socialise with others. This will allow others to follow into the halls to buy.

Traders that have card machines will prefer you to pay that way although cash can be taken but not encouraged.

5/6 marshals will be on hand to make sure you are using the facilities in a safe way or to give advice if needed.

Hand sanatisers will be at the main door, in the toilets and in use by the Traders around the venue.

The building will have been clinically cleaned before we take it over, then recleaned once the Fair is over by the Portishead Youth Centre staff.

I would ask those of you intending to come, to be patient with us as we keep people safe on the day.

Tony.

PS. A couple of stall changes....

Interior Oasis cannot attend due to staff illness.

Ministry of Botany also cannot attend due to problems receiving stock in a timely manner from the EU.

Just wanted to say how pleased I was with the support and turnout for this event.

Although we had to contend with Covid rules, the Traders and buyers were very understanding of the restrictions.

Thanks to all my volunteers who helped Marshall the Fair. Also to the Portishead Youth Centre staff who on the day worked very hard and even let the event be extended for an extra hour to allow all visitors to have time to view and buy there new plants.

The queues stretched round the building with an average of a1 hour wait, for buyers to be able to enter and buy up as many plants as they could manage.

The crowds were also very understanding and jolly despite having to queue ....this was very pleasing and gave me a chance to chat to them as they waited.

Hope to see everyone again next year, with hopefully no restrictions.

Thank you.

Tony.

This is the queue we had to enter the Fair. It was taking on average 1 hour to gain entry but the crowd were very understanding and cheery. The queue went right round the building and carpark.

They all seemed happy grasping there various plants and other goodies on the way out and eventually home.
