Northern Cactus and Succulent Mart, 24 July 2021

Post by Simon S »

Hello All

Let's try again! We're pleased to announce that the first ever Northern Cactus and Succulent Mart will be held on 24 July 2021 at Carlton Social Club (near the M1 / M62 interchange) from 10am to 2.30pm.

Southfield Nurseries has confirmed their attendance and we'll provide further updates of other growers taking part.

If you'd like to sell privately or commercially, please contact Peter Smith on smipt6@aol.com

We hope to make this a successful annual event.

Yes it will indeed be interesting to learn who has been invited to offer plants for sale at this event.....
As far as I can tell, most southern based growers and nurseries, even those who attended the last National Show, or the last CactusWorld event have not been invited to attend, so it is unlikely to be representative of the plant offerings throughout the UK.

Just got back from this, got some beautiful plants and had some good conversations! Huge thanks to everyone involved in putting this event on.

(I was in the face mask with the wolverine on it and the orange dungarees if anyone would like to keep in touch on the forum!)

tel; you must have taken those photos very early or very late on, it was packed when I was there.
Thanks to everyone involved in the mart, great day speaking to old friends and new ones alike, after our 18 months of self isolation .
25 plants bought for a modest sum, and Simon you will need a bigger venue for next year.
