Welcome to the Forum Jonathan, you've got some nice plants there. Could I just suggest that some of them may be in rather too large pots, more chance of rotting them that way, so be careful with watering. Enjoy!

Welcome from me too, Jonathon. I agree with juster, the smaller plants in those nice pans, should really be in smaller pots, or you risk rotting the roots. About an inch extra all round the plant is all you need.

Good luck!

Hi

I have some 12cm pots on order, but there isn't much space difference compared to the 17cm pots I'm using.

What size pot do you suggest? And where can I buy them from?

Hi Jonathan, the size of pot you need really depends on the size of the plant, many of your plants are fine, some could do with a larger pot, but some look a bit swamped by the size of the pot. The compost might be dry now, but when you water, small plants in large pots will be at risk. Diane's suggestion of about an inch of space around the plant is a good rule of thumb, some of yours have much more than that, some have less. You only need to buy standard plastic pots of the sort sold by many garden centres, although your pans will look good for some larger plants.

Welcome to the forum Jonathan. You have joined at a particularly tricky time of course. Normally I would highly recommend you go to local branch meetings and the jewel for acquisition of new plants and local to you will usually be the North West Cactus Mart which is amazing. Always very nice well priced forest cacti available to take away.

That said there may be the October Show, although for mesembryanthemums there is usually a good range of plants for sale.

For epiphyllum why not try Abbey Brook and Ralph at Cactus Shop. Both have excellent plants. Try Ralph Martin also great plants bit perhaps only ripsalis, study his list. Google the names I’m sure you will get to their web sites.

Some of those plants to the left do indeed look well overpotted. Spring cleaning my greenhouse today I found a couple of well overpotted chaps have not survived. I start the season for watering right now by initially spraying the plants to get them going ready for upping the dose in coming months. Take care not to drown them too soon. Happy growing, some nice plants.

Hi

Following your BCSS advice, I have repotted most of them into 12cm pots.

Please see the photo/video below:
