Hello from South Somerset

Post by somersetken »

Hello everyone my name is Ken and I would just like to introduce myself into the BCSS. I have just joined living in South Somerset. I was a member 30 years ago in the Coventry Branch and did a college study on pests of cacti and types of emerging biological control. Life and work took over all those years ago but now I am back after more life events.

I still have two of my original plants Agave americana “Varigata” and an Agave utahensis ssp. kababensis, all the rest were given either to the college or friends. Most had been grown from seed with some purchases so I am going to get seed sowing again and see what I can grow.

My interests are Opuntia, Mammillaria, Notocactus, Gymnocalycium, Lithops and Epiphytes. However, I like all cacti and succulents so anything goes.
(Sorry about the weeds...ha ha ha...)

Ken

Welcome Ken
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.
