It's been a real struggle to find three pictures from bud to full flower, two is much easier.
So, here is Sempervivum ruthenicum, sorry it is nothing more exotic.
First the buds

Well thanks to everyone who posted some pics! As ever coming to a conclusion as to winner has not been easy but in the end I will let Jim Mercer have it for his Echinofossulocactus sequence. Jim is obviously a good grower and an excellent photographer into the bargain. The sequence he posted is a great demonstration of the art of close-up photography. Congrats. Jim!

Thanks Peter, just been to look at the plant in that sequence. Seems to be some new growth with clean white spines but no sign of any flower buds so a few weeks behind last year's sequence.
