Some of my 'double A' Agaves:
Agave asperrima
A. Americana (yes it's common and yes I have no space left but I like the cross banding)
A. Americana striata
A. Atrovirens v. mirabilis

I bought this from IKEA last year and it has been out in my mini greenhouse for the last couple of months - pumping out flowers to no avail. As I suspect the insects in the area are unlikely to find another one to fertilise it poor thing. Can anybody name it please ?

I'd go with Gymnocalycium baldianum.

Thanks Diane and eltel I'm sure you're right. Very easy to grow and very hardy it would appear so obviously a good one for beginners. The only one of my young collection to flower so far as well.

Some nice entries so far and still plenty of time to enter your plants beginning with A. Here's one of my Aeoniums to help things along.
