A festive/Christmas plant

Post by Tina »

Hi All,
Thank you Chris.
How about a festive/Christmas plant- no Brussels sprouts  , it can be because of the colouring of leaf/spines/flowers or decorations you have added, get that tinsel out.

Schlumbergera truncata

The colours of Christmas and flowering nearly at the festive time
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

It was a bit - that was during the BFTE when we had that big snow dump. Have to say the agave didn't turn a hair (tu) Then again it was a veteran of 09/10 and 10/11 winters that were nastier.

Ironically those lines on the leaves were mechanical damage caused by a polytunnel I had erected to protect nearby plants blew over and fell on it.
