Don't have too many that fit the bill but I do have my big (to me!) Echinocactus grusonii And Echinopsis often get maligned as uninteresting put of flower bit I think the shape and slight spiral on this one is nice enough!

That was a long morning coffee, apologies for the delay (as if 4 days wasn't enough!).

Not as many entries for this "last month's competition" as I hoped for (please don't hesitate to share more photos fitting the theme, my wishlist is long, but very stretchy!), but we had a great opening from juster (I clearly have a weak spot for Gymnos...), with some really interesting follow-ups from jenniemay (this Notocactus landed on my list, thank you!), Lophophoras from Russell99 and two Echino{cactus|psis} from Ed (E. grusonii v. albispinus might be my favourite grocery store find so far, on par with Portulacaria afra that started all of this!).

I'm "afraid" the curved spines of juster's Gymnocalycium oenanthum stole my heart and it's a winner!

PS: Apologies if I misspelled any nicknames, it's hard to copy thing back and forth on mobile!

Thank you Mat I love Gymnocalyciums! Now it's my turn to think of a topic for October, will post one soon.
Incidentally I think that Jenniemay's N. leninghausii must be the form inermis, most of them are more spiny than that one.

How about this? Seems quite popular at the moment.
