Isn't akadama very similar to our old friend, Tesco cat litter?

Thank you John (tu)

I had heard about using cat litter on this forum but it might’ve been the old cartoon Ren & Stimpy put me off using it. I think I read that it wasn’t as good but I could be wrong, I’m sure there are more experienced people on here that might know the differences more than I do?

Sorry, I should’ve said Jane and Stuart from PlantLifeCactus before. Not Jill. I don’t know who Jill is.

So all your plants are indoors all year round? You don't take them out spring - fall?

I admit I'm impressed with good shape of your plants under 10W lamps. Could you give us more info about them please? Manufacturer, model, distance from plants...

They are called Vaxer lights and I got them from Ikea https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/vaexer-led ... -40333455/. I wasn’t planning on getting so many of them but I kept buying plants so I kept needing more lights. There might be other setups that are cheaper or better but I saw these got good reviews on YouTube and there is an Ikea quite close by to me.

The tops of the pots are about 200-250mm to the underside of the light.

Ideally I’d like to find an LED tape light that acts as a grow light so if anyone knows of one I’d be interested

Um hum.. and for how long have you been growing your plants under these lights? Like... few months.. more than a year...?
I'm asking because I'm curious about your setup but also a bit suspicious because my not so old lamps are electricity-eaters :)

I didn’t buy the lights in one go, I just checked and this is when I got them

1 x Dec 2018
1 x Jan 2019
1 x Feb 2019
2 x Mar 2019
6 x Nov 2019

My plant collection was growing at the same time too but I think I needed the lights sooner as some of the plants had stretched already

I’ve attached some photos showing a few plants before and after using the lights
