Well done, Ralph. Must like your light levels.

Thanks Tony! This was just a single stem unrooted cutting two years ago. It grew very well last year, and has excelled itself with flowers this year - even more are open all at once today (10 open, 4 half open). I just hope the effort doesn't kill it.

Most other Pterocacti seem to have stems that are more or less deciduous, but in this one they persist.

I've lost a couple of Pterocacti by it getting too hot in my greenhouse, and the roots ending up like baked potatoes. I've now got bigger fans to keep it cooler, but yesterday we had a 5 hour power cut starting at 10am (so windows were shut and fans off). I'm hoping there's not too much permanent damage.

Sorry if this is boring, but I could not resist just one more shot now that all of the flowers are open at the same time!

Boring talking about it for some folks perhaps, but looking at superb photos is a much better option, surely.
AND ... that's one fine plant
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.
