Mine opened a few flowers yesterday but only a little as it was so cloudy.

I like the colour of that orange one! I suppose like many Opuntioids, the flower colour changes over time?

The orange one came from Ian Robinson as a yellow flowered clone. It’s definitely not red but not really yellow. I can send you a piece if you want.

My plant is starting to look like one of those thousand-year-old oak trees as it's increaingly trussed and trained with bits of wire and thread. During the growing season and when not in flower it supports itself just fine but collapses over winter and when in flower if left to its own devices. It's perhaps my most ugly plant.

But the flowers make up for it. I don't find that the colour changes much with age. There's a range of flower ages here, from some that opened this morning to some that are several days old.

Thanks Mike, I'd like to give it a go. Let me know what I can send back...

Not quite so many flowers this year, though still probably the best show among the opuntias, other than the tunillas perhaps.
