Flowering today (2.75" pot)

Nice plant Ross. Lithops-esque in its growth!

I have two of these for quite some years now. I never managed to get them to flower. They are in an unheated greenhouse in winter. That should not prevent decent blooming in summer, I reckon. They also get a lot of sunlight and much fresh air and are in a mineral soil. I am a bit puzzled as why they don't want to bloom for me. What is your technique for these?

As Aiko says I have a couple from a number of years ago and one I got a couple of years ago and I haven't had flowers I guess it could be maybe root raleted

That Is how I treat mine, they do like plenty of water once there are growing in the spring, and I think they flower better when they are 'pot-bound Here are mine today':

I was hoping the -10C to -15C for a week last February would help getting it in flowering. But no, again.

Maybe indeed watering more, if that is the primary key for them. I tend to water my non-seedlings rather infrequent. But I rather risk no flowers than rot. Less water also keeps my plants nice and compact, and helps prevent to repot too often (I am at a ten+ year repotting cycle for most bigger plants).

Here is mine from a few weeks back. It certainly does not need great cold : mine gets -2C at the coldest.

This is approx a 6cm plant with 5 buds. Despite the topdressing it is in a 6cm pot under that sandstone.

So agree that potbound with spring watering works. Also maximum light.

My type form if subterranea illustrates this last point well this year - it is now a low 12cm dome and only flowered on the sunny south side this year.

Despite differences in where we live, mine was also flowering on Sunday. Must be the hot weather...

Disappointingly neither of mine flowered this year. Hard to pin down what the difference is between this year and last year aside from the greyer skiers and more rain in the past couple of months.
