Didn't think mice were that choosy.
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

I was a bit surprised. They literally snipped the florets off and removed the top third of the stalks.

Re: Aloe perrieri & bellatula?
For what it's worth, these are the flowers on my "A. bellatula". I would say they are bell-shaped. This clone is quite proliferous but not inclined to turn red in summer.
BTW, I will have some spare offsets when I re-pot this in a couple of months - if anyone has offsets of "A. perrieri" or "A. bellatula" that looks different to mine, I would be happy to make a swop.
