Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

Re: Echinopsis seedling growth
I think too - most of the other Echinopsis seeds in the same propagator are in the 2mm to 4mm range

Re: Echinopsis seedling growth
That's interesting - I will measure them but mine definitely vary between crosses. That's either nature or nurture! Or both!
Are yours under lights and heated in any way?

They have been at 22C since planting 24h/7d. Initially they were under an LED light of 7500K (= blue northern sky daylight) until germination then transferred to a "growing" light of about 3500K from IKEA. The light is on a 14h timer during daylight hours.
One other seed pod from the same plant was set 2 weeks earlier, and another at the same time as the pot shown. Neither of these pots is advanced as the one shown. Your theory of nature versus nurture may have some validity.
Other Echinopsis are not as advanced nor are seeds from other genera.

I think you fell for that wind-up. Yes ... I guessed that ... but I'm a student of the one-liner .... and was hoping for one .... followed by BOOM BOOM.
