Outside plants

Post by Eric Williams »

The time has come to bring back into the green house plants (c&s) that have been growing out side for the summer. They have been growing well on a flat stone wall. Would I need to take any precautions concerning pests that may have crawled into the pots ? Thanks

Slugs are worse - they are always hidden from view on the exact part of the pot where you decide to pick it up from. :???: :???: :???:

Slugs in the bottom of the pots. Probably best to knock all the plants out to check (carefully). Those fellows can find their way into a greenhouse far too easily without us giving them a hand.

Worse than touching a slug on an unseen part of a pot is to walk into the greenhouse and get a slap in the face from one abseiling down from a vent. Worse still a pair copulating in mid air

Thanks Fred, I did not think they would cause trouble too. I will un pot and check all plants in next few days. Must say they have done well with no help from me. If it rains they get water, if not they still survive.
