Re: An example of a common pest
There is always something wanting to eat our plants.
I think that cat is asking for walkies.
Their was a lady on tv who had a huge collection of hostas, she was using a clove of garlic and boiling it in a small pan then adding it to her watering cans. To deter the slugs. I'm not sure it would work for mealies or cats for that matter and the smell would probably put me of going out to the greenhouse.
Tiger balm is a good cure all maybe that could help this predicament.

Re: An example of a common pest
If it is anything like my moggies it is not so much the eating of the plants, it is when it gets vomited back out again on the carpet that is the problem
At least with lockdown it isn't in front of a room full of people.

Cats are good for the garden. Excellent fertiliser if buried a few feet below.
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.
