Plant ID please

PSX_20210403_164026.jpg
Bought yesterday at a local garden centre .... because it had flower buds.
An identification please.
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

Mammillaria elongata which is very variable in flower colour (mostly seen with whitish/yellow flowers) and spine colour.

I have a few that seem to be fairly hardy as well.

Mine are a good age and very hardy. I say are and not is for this reason.

I've only ever had the one pot and get two flower colours.

I would suggest that yours is Mammillaria microhelia, Fred, which can have pink or yellow flowers.

Agreed. Your pink flowered clone has been known as Mammillaria microheliopsis in the past.

😮 You think it's/ they've had the wrong name for 35+ years?

I knew I should have just called it George 😇

Yes FredG, I agree that these thicker stemmed relatives of M elongata that you show in your pix are what we used to know as Mamm. microhelia and Mamm. microheliopsis, the differentiation based only on the flower colour in earlier times. This has always been one of my favourite mamms because I first grew it as as schoolboy.

I was going to print a label, last evening. I'm so glad I waited.

I see that LLIFLE lists several more synonyms
