Aloe plicatilis

Post by Mike P »

I thought these had to be quite large to flower but 2’ 6” seems to be enough.

Beware of frost. I lost all my twelve plants I have sown in 2012 this winter, when they had to endure just a few degrees of frost somewhere in December.

Thanks for the warning. I'm hoping to have some seed from my plant this year so was thinking about trying a few seedlings unheated over the winter. I'll proceed with caution.

Grew that species from Doug Rowlandseed back in the 90’s. Grew the seedlings for a number of years before parts of my collection got sold for various reasons.

They are very attractive plants, hopefully that plants buds will flower soon, it looks awesome!

Interested in most genera of small to medium ‘globular’ cacti, large flowering Mammillaria, Epiphyllum, Trichocereus, Hildewintera, Cleistocactus etc, small Agaves, Lithops, Titanopsis, Faucaria etc, plus hybridising.
