Old Seed Lists (BCSS & NCSS)

Post by Chris L »

I've been tidying some papers and I came across a load of old seed lists. Knowing that people are always asking after old ones from time to time I looked to see what was on the previous BCSS website and found they only had 2005 to 2013.

I've scanned all the ones I have extra to that and I I've put them all together on a page on the Manchester Branch website here:

https://manchester.bcss.org.uk/home/ncs ... eed-lists/

If anyone can add any more please let me know and I'll be happy to add them. I seem to have misplaced 2018, 2019 and 2020 - they will be here somewhere.... those should be easy to find in someone's papers.

I scanned mine at 2190px x 2914px @ 300dpi in greyscale and then used ilovepdf.com to merge them.

The previous BCSS society page with the seedlists is here:

These are still on the current website, although possibly as orphaned pages (i.e. there are no links into them).
There may be others, but not with the same url format:

https://www.society.bcss.org.uk/index.p ... -2018.html
https://www.society.bcss.org.uk/index.p ... -2019.html

It would be great to get the Dec 2021 list in pdf form.

Thanks. Great. Will add the missing ones. These are the sort of things that can easily go missing.

Would be really good if anyone has any pre-2004 in their archives.

I think there may be a problem, Chris, with opening the links in Android.

Edit ... the lists open OK in Apple OS
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

All good (except missing links to 2019 & 2020) on Android as well, opening as a new tab usually helps with the more stubborn pages or files.

I've looked at the code and there is nothing wrong with it. It is designed to open links in new tabs.

Googling seem to suggest it is a fairly common problem when trying to open a PDF on a tablet. I thought that it might be because Adobe isn't on the tablet, but I've installed it and that didn't help.

:shrugs: It is beyond me I am afraid.

Ah ha!   They need downloading to be read.

Click and hold the URL.
Pop up - Open in new tab.
Choose where to download.

Sigh. It then seems to want to download every PDF when clicked so I may end up having to find where it is saving them to delete afterwards.
